The Company and Product

Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain and the most popular pizza franchise in Poland. In addition to their brick-and-mortar pizza outlets, their customers can also order food to be delivered via a web and mobile application.

Scope and Highlights

  • 30%INCreased conversions

The Challenge

The client approached us with the goal of rebuilding their existing website in order to improve its user experience. They wanted to make the process of ordering pizza quicker and more enjoyable, helping the business increase sales and stand out from the competition.

The website’s frontend had to be built from scratch and integrated with the existing backend and design elements.

The core challenges included:

  • Building a functional frontend of the app on the existing backend
  • Refreshing the app’s UX to make it more user-friendly
  • Conducting search engine optimization to increase the website's visibility in search engines
  • Adapting the app to the current situation with a contact-free delivery feature

The Process

The app had to be intuitive and responsive while processing a lot of data. More intuitive design means less friction, a more enjoyable customer journey, and can contribute to higher conversion.

The majority of Pizza Hut’s orders are placed via mobile devices. That’s why our main goal was to build a mobile-first app and increase mobile conversions.

We developed the app’s frontend focusing on improving every step of the customer journey - starting with browsing through the products offered for takeaway or delivery, including customizing the order and adding products to the basket, and ending with finalizing the transaction using secure payment options.

We also added a comprehensive analytics module, Google Tag Manager, and built the app with SEO in mind.

React.js was our technology of choice for frontend development because it has proven to be versatile and flexible. Our experience with React shows that it allows for fast implementation of new features.

Core efforts included:

  • Building a new mobile-friendly web app using React.js and focus on improving every feature
  • Creating a user’s panel with an option to save your address and order history
  • Implementing a dynamic menu that changes depending on the user’s location
  • Integrating a seamless white-label payment system
  • Adding an in-depth app and web analytics to help the client gain valuable insights
